VideoReply ("VideoReply," "we," "us") is a Chrome extension and web service that turns text you type into an AI avatar video, for insertion into a Gmail reply. This policy covers what we collect, how we use it, and what the extension accesses inside Gmail.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address (via Google Sign-In), API key, and plan or credit balance.
- Content you submit: the text you type into the extension's panel to generate a video.
- Generated content: the polished script and rendered video produced from what you submit.
- Payment information: handled directly by Stripe. VideoReply does not store full card numbers.
- Usage data: job status and timestamps, used to process and troubleshoot your videos.
What the Chrome extension accesses
The extension injects a "Reply with Video" button into Gmail's compose toolbar (mail.google.com). It reads the compose window's DOM only to place that button and to insert the finished video link back into your reply - it does not read the rest of your inbox, other emails, or contacts, and does not transmit page content to our servers beyond the text you explicitly type into the extension's own panel.
How we use your information
- To generate a script and render your video.
- To maintain your account, credit balance, and job history.
- To troubleshoot failed jobs and keep the service reliable.
We do not sell the text you submit, generated scripts, or generated videos.
Third-party processors
VideoReply relies on a small number of processors to do its job:
- OpenAI, to polish your typed text into a video script.
- HeyGen, to render the avatar video.
- Stripe, to handle payment and billing.
- Google, for Sign-In authentication.
Each provider only processes the data needed to perform its part of the pipeline.
Data retention
Submitted text, generated scripts, and rendered videos are kept for as long as your account is active, so you and the recipients of your emails can access the hosted video link. You can request deletion of your account and its content at any time by contacting us.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including transmitting requests over encrypted connections and limiting internal access to what's needed to operate the service. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as VideoReply changes. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date.
